The Best Bible Study For Kids

My journey of starting a Bible study for kids began with a simple intention: to provide my children with stories that would not only captivate their imagination but also instill essential values. I asked a group of close friends if they wanted to start a Bible study for our young kids and we had no idea it would turn out to be as enriching for us as it was for the kids. Through shared laughter, thought-provoking discussions, and hands-on activities, we discovered the joy of nurturing young hearts with the wisdom of the Bible.

So how did we make this Bible study happen? Let’s get to it!

We chose to do a Bible lesson called The Armor of God. This printable Bible Pack is an in-depth hands on study of Ephesians 6:10-19 that will help your family connect, play, learn & grow in God’s Word together. The pack was designed for ages 3-8, but all of the activities can be modified based on your kid’s ages.

We started things up in the month of September with a fun scavenger hunt. This was part of the Introduction section and the kids really enjoyed it. We explained all we’d be talking about throughout the unit and did a couple more activities. The kids in our group ranged from babies to 5 years old, but we focused it towards the 3-5 year olds, as this preschool Bible lesson is designed for kids ages 3-8 years old.

The pack includes lesson plans for 7 pieces of armor, so we took turns each month, focusing on one piece of armor. Whoever chose to host for the month would review the lesson plans and then choose which activities they wanted to do.

We didn’t always do everything included in the plan, and sometimes we even changed it up a bit. This worked out great, because now I can review what we learned over the summer, using the activities we didn’t do yet!

Our schedule was pretty laid-back. We chose one Friday each month and met up around 10am. We would start off by letting the kids play and sometimes we’d bring snacks to share. I made my yummy 5 Ingredient Bagels for one of our sessions and they were a huge hit!

Then, the host would go through the activities with the kids, with the other moms helping out when needed. We usually spent about 45 minutes on the unit before letting the kids run around and play again. We would bring lunches and make a whole morning of it. The kids had a blast and learned so much!

We had so much fun each month with this Bible study.
