Treadmill HIIT Workouts: 20-40-60 Minutes
I have been in such a good groove lately with working out that I wanted to share some of my favorite Treadmill HIIT Workouts with y’all! I never thought I would be someone who liked the treadmill- I always thought it was pretty boring. But that’s because I wasn’t finding the right workout.
I guess I always thought the only way to burn a lot of calories on the treadmill was to run fast. Wrong! I was finally introduced to incline intervals and I definitely work up a sweat just by walking. I’ve broken it down into 3 workouts because I realized I needed a variety depending on how much time I had. Hopefully one of these workouts, if not all of them, will work for you too!

20 Minute Quick HIIT
This 20 minute workout involves running, but just for a short time. It’s a true HIIT workout and great for when I need something quick. I usually combine this with my Strong class, which is a bootcamp type gym class, combining strength and cardio. The Strong class is only 30 minutes, so most days I like to add a little extra cardio. I burn about 125 calories with this 20 minute treadmill HIIT workout (I’ll explain more below on how I calculate calories burned).
40 Minute Booty Blast
Next up is the 40 Minute Booty Blast. I love this treadmill HIIT workout! I feel like it’s the perfect amount to really push me, and I burn 350 calories! The incline stays pretty high, but with the right attitude (and music) it’s definitely a good one. I try to do this workout 1-2 times a week, combined with my Daily 10 routine (pictured below).
60 Minute Power Hour
If you’ve got the time, I highly recommend this 60 minute treadmill HIIT workout. It’s easy to follow, increasing and decreasing at the same intervals throughout, and it’s a nice speed to maintain. This is a good workout for when I’m listening to a podcast or catching up on messages and emails. I also burn about 525 calories!
I am so happy to be in a good routine of working out. I feel SO much better when I’m active and moving around. We’ve had a lot of rain lately, with winter still dragging along, so I’m very thankful for our gym membership. It always helps to have a plan in place when working out, along with some awesome music, and clothes you feel comfortable in! You can find my favorite Amazon workout clothes HERE. I’m also linking the Wireless Earbuds I use. I tried out several pairs before settling on these, and they’re only $35! I think the sound quality is amazing!
If you need more inspiration, take a look at my Quick 10-Minute Workouts. These are great for when you want something quick, or when you need to add a little boost to your workout. I also mentioned above that I have a formula I use to estimate how many calories I burn. After doing a little research, I found that most treadmills estimate calories based on a person weighing 155 pounds. So if you know how much you weigh, you’ll just multiply that by the calories shown on the treadmill, and then divide by 155. Simple little proportion! (says the former math teacher, lol). Don’t wanna count calories? No problem. Find what works for you and have fun. Now let’s do this!
